Paul Newman is an accomplished restaurant and bar based sales & marketeer and operator with more than 25 years experience in the wines and spirit, drinks brands and bar & restaurant industries.
From the early 1990s as a National Accounts Manager for Classic Wines & Spirits in Chester, specialising in Champagne and looking after a portfolio of £4,000,000, generated within a 3 year period, to the latter 1990s as Regional Brand Manager for Absolut Vodka UK (Ideal Brands/ Seagram UK). This Absolut position, based out of London, involved the development sales of Absolut Vodka to all UK areas outside London including Northern Ireland, planning and implementing marketing strategies, including advertising and PR and building the image of Absolut Vodka in the on-trade prior to the mainstream rollout. To this day Paul is often credited as being the person who started the influx of premium design led spirits in the regions of the UK.
Later Paul was a founder member, Marketing Director and shareholder in Living Ventures Ltd from 1999, the company behind concepts such as The Living Room restaurant and bar, Gusto Restaurants and The Blackhouse Grills. Paul was integral to the development of The Living Room restaurant and bar being viewed as one of the most respected and successful concepts across the UK, building to 13 sites by 2006 with average weekly sales of £45,000. Paul opened more than 18 restaurants in seven years all with great success and exceptional 1st week sales. Within Living Ventures Paul was responsible for ground-breaking e based marketing and websites and was pivotal to the majority of the 50 plus awards won by the company. Paul also successfully operated the first of The Living Room outlets in Manchester, as General Manager, giving him invaluable operational experience.
In 2007, as founder & director, Paul opened his own restaurant and cocktail bar - Residence Restaurant & Bar in Cheshire. The Residence was located within a grade 2 star listed Georgian mansion with a beautiful restaurant area and a large bar area specialising in cocktails and a 70 cover restaurant.
In 2009 Paul was selected as one of the most influential people in the Industry at the 2009 Theme Magazine Top 100 awards.
2011 was a big year with the launch of TWA - The Wine Agency - with partner David Large and of course the fabulous Lord Binning Pub & Kitchen - part of The New Moon Pub Co - a company established with culinary genius, Cheshire Celebrity Chef - David Mooney.
Paul is married to Wendy with daughter Asia Rae and son Salvador.
